IFRS 17 / 9 is a complex Finance program divided in workstreams changing the accounting standard from IFRS 4 to IFRS 17. This role as Project Manager is responsible for the operational management of sub-projects or phases of the larger project as well as cross functional coordination and change management.

 

  • Accountability for a successful implementation of a sub workstream within the IFRS 17/9 program.
  • To select appropriate processes and interact with local business units and Group Finance Functions (e.g. Accounting, Investment Management, Treasury) to meet the project objectives.
  • To adapt to and apply different delivery approaches and perform, with appropriate support, project management processes to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control as well as close a project in accordance with Zurich frameworks and policies.
  • To establish and maintain project management deliverables, such as risk logs, action plans, or status reports to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • To perform simple qualitative reviews in accordance with guidelines to ensure quality deliverables.
  • To prepare for meetings including coordination of logistics, producing inputs and outputs for the project.
  • To manage basic administration activities on the project management.
  • To communicate effectively with countries and group functions, acting as intermediate, enabling the information flow to meet the project goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 or more years of experience in project management or senior finance positions in the Insurance Industry.
  • Knowledge in Insurance Finance processes/data flows is a prerequisite.
  • Experience in complex finance projects.
  • Track-record of top-down problem-solving in projects with an international reach.
  • Good project management skills. Capacity to define a roadmap, monitor and communicate progress in an Agile environment.
  • High degree of autonomy, capacity to navigate ambiguous requirements and conflicting priorities.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Be able to challenge local project plans in the context of IFRS 17/9 implementation.
