For our client, a private bank in Zurich, we are looking for an System Engineer.

The team creates and runs state of the art applications to manage FX trading and client risk. They are looking for a new team member to develop and maintain the platform centred around a Murex vendor system. The team interacts directly with business owners to design, implement and support innovative solutions in an agile environment.

• Environment and configuration management of core FX systems/FX Applications (Murex, Wallstreet, Java applications)
• Support and troubleshooting for internally created and externally supported software experience on Unix (Linux), command, SQL, XML languages
• Configuration and scripting around FX platform offerings
• Build, test and deploy new tools, services and product features
• Test configured functionality/new features on FX-platform
• Supervise business critical features are available and properly running in production
• Scheduling and troubleshooting of end of day processes
• Develop new functionality, bug fixed on FX applications
• Continuously drive and improve the system
• On call duty for production support

• Must have
  • 5+ years proven work experience preferably in the financial industry in a similar role
  • Environment management experience is a must including knowledge of Linux operating systems, experience in bash scripting
  • Experience with java application support and operations is a must
  • Experience with messaging systems (MQ)
  • Located in Switzerland or willing to relocate. Remote work is possible post Covid (max 50%) but must be from a Swiss location.
  • Fluent in English, other languages are a plus
  • Positive thinking personality with a can-do attitude
  • High motivation to acquire new technical skills
  • Self-motivator, able and willing to work with minimal direction
     
• Nice to have
  • we expect two or more of the following requirements
  • Profound technical and business knowledge of the trading product platforms for FX or Rates with strong experience of Murex trading platform
  • Knowledge of Murex MXML Exchange workflows design and implementation
  • Knowledge of Murex reporting Datamart or other Murex components
  • Java development experience
  • Experience with XML and XSLT transformations
  • Experience in Agile methodologies
  • Good understanding of FX, IR products and lifecycles
  • Knowledge of development methodologies, technologies (languages, databases, support tools)
